Ford: 1 Week Old

I'm a little behind (as usual), but trying my best to keep up and keep Ford's first weeks at home well-documented.  Ford's first week was busy, exciting, and full of sweet, cuddly, lovable moments.  It was fun (and a bit overwhelming) to bring him home to our crazy household, but I feel so blessed that Charlie and Evie have been so good with him.  So far, they just adore him and have been really understanding about my physical limitations.  They both tell everyone that Mommy can't pick them up because her tummy hurts.  They are very matter-of-fact about it and it has made the transition so much easier.  I have enjoyed the little break from carrying around my big kids, so hopefully these habits will stick around.

Here is sweet Ford on his one-week birthday (a momentous occasion, right?).
Poor baby got the worst little chapped chin at the hospital.  Luckily, with a lot of Aquaphor, it cleared up a few days after these photos.

I love baby feet and skinny baby legs. :)

I also love the very dramatic startle reflexes and wild hands. :)
Hook 'em!  (kind of)
Aaaaaand...we're out.

Ford did great at his first doctor's appointment, although he wasn't so thrilled with the whole experience.  He was born at 7 lbs., 8 oz., left the hospital at 6 lbs., 14 oz., and was back up to 7 lbs., 3 oz. at one week.  Way to go Fordy!
He took a bit of soothing after the trauma of having to be undressed and weighed.
Solely for Ford's benefit (because we know he cares about such things), we decided to have a cake for his one-week birthday.  Charlie, Evie and I may have been slightly more excited than Ford about this development... :)

See how much Ford is enjoying his party??
Happy one-week birthday sweet Ford!  It is really hard to believe you've only been with us for a week--it is already hard to imagine our lives without you!
