Evie's Baptism

We had Evie baptized at our church, First United Methodist Church (Dallas), on Sunday, February 19. It was a wonderful ceremony and service and we spent a fun weekend celebrating our sweet little girl.  My family came into town for the occasion and we had such a fun, relaxed, easy weekend.  It's funny how much more relaxed I was with Evie's baptism than with Charlie's.  Even though we have a much busier household now, things just seem so much easier with the second child!  [There are a LOT of photos in this post, so bear with me... :)]

Here's the mouse in her lovely baptism gown.

 Relaxing before the ceremony...

A few not-so-modest shots before she put her dress on (the spit-up queen didn't stay in her dress for too long, as we knew what she'd do to it if given the chance :).
 A defiant pose.

Charlie, recognizing the gravity of the occasion, decided to dress up as well.  He looked like such a little gentleman!
Ok, maybe not that gentlemanly...
Notice the scrape on his forehead--poor guy took another fall!

Back to the mouse...now in her bonnet. :)

 Buddies.
Charlie and his godmother, Aunt Meggie.
I made sure we got a few family pics before we left for church, since I kind of forgot about those on Charlie's baptism day...

And here's Evie with her proud grandparents.
And her proud Aunt Meggie. :)

One more family photo, just for good measure...

...and one with Dr. Fiedler, the pastor at our church who baptized Evie (and Charlie).
Evie with Clint, me, Audra, and my sweet siblings.  SO appreciate them taking the time to be a part of this weekend!
For a 21-month-old, Charlie did quite well during the service.
Evie's big day was made even more special by the fact that she had a baptism buddy.  One of my best friends, Ann, had her son, Colin, baptized at the same service.  Colin appeared to be very interested in Miss E during our photo session. :)

Getting baptized is exhausting!
 A happy godfather, post-baptism.

Evie snuck in some cuddles with Aunt Meggie while we opened her presents.  What a way to end her special day!
Since my family was in town, we had a celebratory weekend.  We didn't do as much as I had hoped because of lots and lots of rain on Saturday, but luckily for Charlie, Aunt Meggie is a great sport and took him outside to play in the rain.  I don't know if Charlie has ever had so much fun.  He came back inside after an hour completely drenched, but as excited and giddy as could be.

We took a nice warm bath afterwards to clean up.  Both kids love their bath time, and especially loved having Aunt Meggie around to help.

Trying to escape...

Thank you everyone for making Evie's big day so special!

Playing with my new lens

Testing some settings on my new portrait lens...didn't expect much from the pics, but thought they were pretty funny. :)
