32 Weeks

I had my 32-week doctor's appointment today and everything continues to look good. I am measuring a little small, but I have been the whole way through, so my doctor does not seem worried about it. Unfortunately, it's still looking like little Snuggie is in a breech position (he has been for a while now), so we are really praying that he turns in the next few weeks and allows me to avoid a C-section. But I am preparing myself for the possibility of a C-section and really feel that if it's the best way to get our little guy out and keep us both healthy, then I am all for it. Other than that, things are looking good. I get to have another sonogram in two weeks to check the position of the baby--so excited to get another peek at him! :)

My Dallas Baby Shower

Some of my best girl friends in the world threw me a baby shower this past weekend up here in Dallas. Although the weather did not fully cooperate (it was freezing and we even had a few inches of snow on Saturday night!), the shower was incredible. It was held at my friend Ann's house and the house looked beautiful, the decorations were gorgeous, the food was wonderful, and it was so fun to see everyone. I just had the best day and will remember this day forever. It was so fun celebrating our little boy with so many wonderful friends. [Yes, I know I am using too many adjectives in this post, but it really was just such a special day for me. :)]

The food table looked incredible. And the food really was as good as it looks here... :)

Yum!

Here I am with Corrine, a friend of mine who is due two weeks after me (also with a little boy). We are so excited that our little guy will have a little playmate!

My cousin, Addie, and my sister, Meg, came up to Dallas for the shower with my mom and my aunt. It was so fun to get to spend some time with them--they always make everything so much more fun!

I know that my eyes are closed, but it's the only picture I got with Meg (and she looks cute :).

Here I am with some of my best girls friends from college. It was so great to have all of them in town--Courtney and Sarah came in from Houston, Jordan and Jill came in from Austin, and Kelly came in from LA! (and Ann and Cyn are here with me in Dallas, but loved seeing them too :). Love you guys!

Kelly brought her 6 1/2 month-old son, Cooper, in from LA with her, so we went to see him after the shower. He is one of the cutest, sweetest, happiest babies I have ever seen--the kind that deceives you into thinking that being a mother won't be hard at all. :)

Thanks so much to all of my wonderful hostesses, and to everyone who came to the shower. I had a wonderful day, and Snuggie is now officially spoiled! We can't wait to put him in all of his new outfits and show him his fully-outfitted room.

My Seguin Baby Shower

I was honored with my first baby shower this weekend and it was wonderful. It was particularly special because it was held in Seguin, and I got to spend the day with many old friends and family. The shower was held out at my grandparents' old home on our family ranch and it was so special to get to celebrate such an important time in my life out there. It brought back many good memories of my childhood and makes me excited for the time when we can introduce our little boy to all the wonders of the ranch.
My aunts and cousins hosted the shower and it was incredible. Every table in the house was decorated with beautiful flowers, and each little touch that they added was adorable. Here is a small sampling of the beautiful spread:

I love this picture of the room--it really captures the fun time we had on Saturday.

Here is my mom, my aunt Dede, and my cousin's daughter Abigail. Isn't she adorable??

Opening presents--so fun! :)

Here I am with my other two pregnant cousins. They are both due in August (within a week of each other!) and Clint and I are so excited that Snuggie is getting two little playmates so close to his own age. The three of us had so much fun growing up together, and I know our kids will as well. Megan is having a boy (yay!), and we are eagerly waiting to hear what Amy is having...

Here I am with all of my wonderful hostesses--you guys are incredible!

Thank you all so much for a wonderful shower and a very special weekend. Clint and I had so much fun unpacking Snuggie's new things in his nursery last night. This little boy is going to be well-outfitted!

30 Weeks!

Getting bigger...

It is hard to believe that we are at the 30-week point! Ok, I say that, and just a few weeks ago, I would have been amazed to have only 10 weeks left, but as my belly is rapidly growing larger (and I am growing correspondingly more uncomfortable), 10 weeks is beginning to sound like a very long time. :) Snuggie celebrated his 30-week bday with lots of acrobatics, kicks, and punches. Several times today, I looked down and noticed my belly moving around wildly. I think our little man is becoming quite the little dancer. :)

I think my favorite part of the past week or two has been the bond that Clint and I have been developing with our little guy. Clint has gotten in the habit of talking to Snuggie at night, and the Snugs loves it! Even when he hasn't been moving at all, he wakes up as soon as Clint starts talking to him and starts doing all kinds of kicks and other movements. I will feel him move toward Clint's voice and then he kicks vigorously in response to Clint's questions (Clint's favorite thing to do is tell him about things that are going on with us and get his opinion--telling him "kick once for yes and twice for no." Not surprisingly, Snuggie always has an opinion :). When Clint is finished talking to him, I always feel a barrage of angry little kicks, as if Snuggie is telling us that he's not finished with the conversation. I knew Snugs would be a daddy's boy once he arrived, but I had no idea it would begin so early...
