Ford's Baptism

Ford was baptized on March 30, 2014 in a beautiful ceremony at Highland Park United Methodist Church.  Dr. John Fiedler, who baptized Charlie and Evie, also baptized Ford, and it made the ceremony so much more special to have that connection.  Ford downed a big bottle on the way to church and slept through the entire ceremony--which means he was quite well-behaved!

Here is the little (big) guy in his baptism outfit (note: these were taken almost a month after the ceremony...we didn't get great pictures the day of and it took me a while to get around to it... :)

Ford is lying on a beautiful quilt that Meg and Graeme gave him for his baptism.  It is beautiful and such a special gift.  I know he will treasure this!

Someone thinks he is looking pretty good...

I love Bethany for many reasons, not least of all because she sat in the front row and sneakily took pictures of the ceremony. :)  So fun to have these!

Charlie and Evie were SO proud to be standing up there with us.  At the beginning of the service, Dr. Fiedler noted that he had baptized Charlie and Evie and said, "obviously, I did a great job."  They were very pleased to be recognized. :)

After the service...

Ford and his sweet godparents.
Ford with Papa and Ahh.
Evie and Charlie were just giddy to have their cousins in town.

After the ceremony, we had everyone over for a baptism lunch.  It was such a fun time!

Ford relaxed with his guests...

...and in his swing...
Some of our guests included the Reins...
...the younger Kirks...
...and the Stoltzes, including Ann and Ford's new bestie, Grayson.

After lunch, the kids played in the bounce house and in the yard.

And posed for the camera. :)

The wildest party animals, judging by the state of their outfits, were Walter...
...and Palmer Jordan.  I love these little party animals. :)
Thanks to Papa and Ahh, the Reins, the Kirks, Dede, the Reeds, the Jordans, and the Stoltzes for making Ford's baptism so fun and special!  He feels very loved!
