The long-awaited-for wedding finally arrived last weekend, and it was just as wonderful as we had imagined it would be. My brother married Audra, Charlie's new aunt :), in Amarillo, Audra's hometown. It was a fun, sweet, perfect weekend, starting off with a birthday dinner for Clint on Thursday night. We arrived in Amarillo to a great hamburger dinner, complete with fried peppers and red velvet cake. Clint was in heaven! Clint and I were--appropriately--focused on our food, and Charlie somehow managed to wolf down an entire hamburger bun during dinner. It messed with his digestion just a bit, but he sure was good during our meal! :)
Then, on Friday, we had the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. The bride and groom were absolutely glowing all weekend, and who could blame them?? :)
Charlie practiced crawling down the aisle. Luckily, he didn't have to do that at the actual ceremony!
Relaxing in the grass...
...and hanging out with some of his favorite people.
We got some laughs in before Charlie headed home for the night...
The rehearsal dinner was so much fun. I loved hearing all the toasts--I don't think I've laughed so hard in a long time. The evening was just perfect, and made us even more excited for the wedding...
I got to catch up with Addie during dinner.
And spent some quality time with Meg and Fog.
And Clint, of course. :)
On Saturday, we spent a little bit of time relaxing at the hotel, but most of the day was spent in wedding activities. I always forget how much there is to do on the big day!
Charlie got one more picture in with Uncle Sam while they were BOTH still bachelors (hopefully Charlie will stay that way for a while!).
Audra was a beautiful bride. We had so much fun hanging out with her and the other bridesmaids...
...until trouble arrived! Charlie, as a ring bearer, rode down the aisle in a cute little red wagon. We decided to get him used to it before the ceremony--clearly, that did not take long!
Meg and I fed Charlie his dinner before we got him dressed. I felt like we did a masterful job, since none of it ended up on our dresses (despite one of the wildest eaters you have ever seen).
The ring bearers and flower girls posing for a photo...
The oldest ring bearer, Thomas, was just precious. He took great care of Charlie during the ceremony and was so sweet with Audra. I heard him asking her, "Are you nervous? If I were getting married today, I think I would be very nervous."
Charlie loved Albany, one of the flower girls.
Quick photo with Dad before the ceremony...
And we're off! Charlie did a great job as "ring bearer." Not surprisingly, he loved being the center of attention and really hammed it up as he went down the aisle.
Heading out after a beautiful, sweet, tear-jerking ceremony...
What a sweet couple!
We chatted with Charlotte the next morning before heading back to Dallas. At this point in the morning, we still thought we were flying back. Unfortunately, Southwest cancelled a bunch of flights that morning, including ours. Luckily, Mom and Dad were sweet enough to give us a ride in their van and drove way out of their way to drop us in Dallas. It was so much fun for us, but a LONG day for them!
Someone was very tuckered out from his fun-filled weekend!
