A Very Happy Thanksgiving

We had a truly wonderful Thanksgiving this year--made even more fun with the addition of Charlie. We drove out to West Texas and spent the week out at Clint's ranch with his family. Charlie loved getting to see the ranch, meet all the animals, ride around in the Ranger, and--of course--spend time with our family. I loved getting to watch Charlie have so much fun with everyone and am so grateful for all the help I got with Charlie during the holiday. We both got so spoiled!

After a seven-hour drive on Tuesday (which, surprisingly, went much better (and faster!) than expected), Charlie was ready to get down on the ground and play. He was very excited that we let him stay up past his bedtime. :)
On Thursday, we headed up to Sally and Joe's house in Lubbock for a wonderful Thanksgiving meal. Charlie decided to celebrate Thanksgiving as a sock monkey. His cousins (SB, Meredith, and Will) gave him this outfit last Christmas (when I was only 20 weeks pregnant!) and it finally fits him. We thought our sock monkey (the one on the right) was pretty adorable. :)
Charlie LOVES playing with his cousins. He thinks they are awesome. And I think they are just about the best babysitters ever!
Clint's cousins Tira (and husband Corby) and Megan (and husband Travis) joined us for Thanksgiving. Tira and Corby brought their FOUR boys and Megan and Travis brought their little one, Oliver. Here is Ford, Tira and Corby's youngest boy. He is 9 months old and just adorable.
And here's precious little Oliver. He just turned one!

Charlie and Ford discussed many vexing 6-9 month issues.
On Friday, Clint's great-grandmother Sarah hosted the group at her house. Clint and Will got caught up in a rousing game of Laser Tag.
Charlie entertained his cousins.
And, of course, we bundled up and took a walk around the ranch.
Charlie LOVED riding around in the Ranger. He could not believe his luck when he saw that there was no room for a carseat...
We saw cows...
...and fed the horses.
And then went to meet Jazz and Goober.
Hello Jazz!
Charlie is already becoming an expert horseman.

Someone was very happy to have his cousins walk around with him...
We especially loved visiting Dorado.

And Charlie just loved Ford's car. This rocketed to the top of his Christmas wish list. :)

The Holcomb boys (Case (5), Holt (9), Ford (9 months), and Krieg (7)).
We tried to get a cousin picture on the stairs, but the stair rails created a bit of a problem.
And then things just got a little wild up there... :)
We capped off each evening with gorgeous West Texas sunsets...always one of my favorite parts of the day.
Thank you everyone for such a wonderful week. We cannot WAIT for our next trip out to Bronco!
